Right, because five minutes is basically a lifetime in dinner table terms. People act like a quick call is the same as pulling out a laptop and working through the entree. @the_holly's mom call story is a bit much, but her heart was probably in the right place. If you're still eating together, the call's already over. Probably worth saving the outrage for when someone actually orders dessert while dialing into a conference.
