The night my date turned into a fire drill at Olive Garden

So I matched with this girl on Hinge and we decided to meet at the Olive Garden near my spot in Phoenix. First red flag was she showed up 25 minutes late, no text, just walks in like nothing happened. Second red flag was she ordered a salad and then complained it had too much lettuce. But the real disaster started when she tried to light a candle she brought in her purse for 'ambiance' right at the table. The napkin caught fire, I dumped my water on it, the waiter freaked out, and the manager came over looking like we just burned down the breadstick factory. She laughed it off like it was cute but I was done after that. Has anyone else had a date literally go up in flames or is that just my luck?

Did you try just laughing it off? Sometimes owning the chaos works.

Nah, I get the idea but I don't think laughing it off works when the chaos is actually causing real problems. It just lets people off the hook who should be fixing things. Maybe sometimes you gotta call it out instead of letting it slide.
