Just realized targeted ads don't freak me out like everyone else.
I actually LIKE when ads are relevant to my interests, it saves time.

What finally clicked for me was turning off all the algorithmic suggestions and just searching for a specific mood. Like, I'll type "90s alt rock" or "chill synth" directly into the search bar instead of hitting play on a premade mix. That way I find playlists made by real people who tag stuff properly. It takes a minute to pick one, but then you get a whole list of songs that actually fit together instead of weird random jumps.
