What if we stopped forcing ourselves to wake up at 5 AM?

For two years, I followed the 5 AM club idea, setting my alarm for 4:45 AM every day in my Chicago apartment. I switched to waking up naturally at 7:30 AM about six months ago, and my focus and mood are way better because I'm not fighting my own sleep cycle. Why do we treat one early time as the only path to being productive?

Is waking up early really that big of a deal? Some people just work better later in the day. I tried the 5 am thing for a month and was tired all the time, so I gave it up. It feels like we just follow these trends without asking if they actually help us. What works for a CEO might not work for someone with a different job or life, right?

Totally agree, it's just another trend. My brain doesn't even turn on before 9 am, so forcing it earlier is pointless. The whole "miracle morning" thing just made me need a miracle nap by lunch.

My neighbor's 5 am treadmill ritual always wakes my dog, so I get it.
