My buddy told me to stop singing along to Landslide and just listen... finally get it now
Honestly, I always cranked Stevie Nicks during my commute and belted every word until my buddy Dave told me to shut up and just hear the guitar for a change. He said the pedal steel carries the whole emotion. Tried it last Friday on the 405 and yeah, I actually felt the song hit different without my voice in the way. Anyone else had a friend call them out on their car singing habits?

Dave told me to shut up and just hear the guitar" - he was right, that pedal steel is like a second voice.

Wait, is it weird that I used to roll my eyes whenever someone said "listen to the guitar" on records like this? Because yeah, that pedal steel on the outro of 'Moved Along' is basically its own character. I always thought it was just background texture until I actually stopped trying to follow the lyrics and just sat with the sound. Now I hear how it weeps and slides around the vocal melody, like it's having a conversation with the singer. Definitely changed how I listen to the whole album.
