Had to pick between the old diesel 30 ton and the newer 60 ton for a tight hospital job in Boise
Two weeks back I had a gig setting a dozen rooftop units on a hospital in Boise, and the site was so tight I had to choose between our beat up 30 ton diesel and the newer 60 ton. I went with the 30 ton because it fit in the alley behind the building, even though it meant more picks and a slower day. Turned out the hydraulic leak on the 30 ton got worse by noon, so I lost about 90 minutes waiting on a mechanic to top it off. Still finished the picks on time, but I kept thinking the 60 ton would have made it if I had set up from the lot across the street. What do you guys do when the small crane fits but the big one has way more reach to spare?
