Found a simple trick for leveling on uneven ground today
Was setting up on a sloped job site near downtown and realized a 2-foot level on the outrigger pad gives you a false reading if the ground's soft. Switched to using a long string line between the pads and got it dead level in half the time. Any other tricks for dealing with uneven ground besides cribbing?

Found a simple trick for leveling on uneven ground" reminds me of something I picked up from an old hand. Try using a water level tube between the outrigger pads. It's dead simple, no batteries needed, and works even if the ground is real mushy. Just fill it up and match the water line.

Watched a guy try that once and ended up with a mouthful of muddy water when the hose slipped.
