That $50 dryer I bought off Facebook marketplace was a complete waste
I needed a new blow dryer for my station since mine died mid client last Tuesday. Found one for $50 from some lady who said it was barely used. Got it home, plugged it in, and it sounded like a lawnmower with rocks in it. Lasted maybe 4 minutes before it shut off completely and never turned back on. Has anyone else had bad luck buying used tools online?

Man, did you test it before you handed over the cash or just take her word for it?

Testing stuff before you buy it is overrated half the time. In my experience, a quick visual check and a gut feeling usually tells you enough. You can miss a lot of little things in a test drive that you'd only notice after a week of daily driving anyway. Maybe she seemed honest, and sometimes you just gotta trust that.

Yeah, you're right @hayes.jake. Gut feeling is underrated. Bought a truck last year from some guy online. Didn't even start it up. Just looked at the tires, checked the oil, shook his hand. Drove it home and it's still running fine two years later.
People overthink it. You can stare at a car for an hour and still miss stuff. A test drive just tells you the engine turns over and the brakes aren't grinding. Real problems show up after a week of driving to work every day anyway.
Sometimes you just gotta trust the vibe. Sounds like she was straight up with you. That counts for more than some fancy inspection.
