So I tried a 'cold' perm on my own hair as a test run...
I used a new acid wave lotion from a brand I got at the supply store in Tacoma. Left it on for exactly 15 minutes like the box said, but my hair came out way too soft and the curl fell out after one wash. I learned that my fine hair might need a different processing time, even with a gentle formula. Has anyone else had to adjust the timing for acid waves on really fine hair?

I used to follow box times too, until my fine hair taught me otherwise.

Honestly sticking to the box time has never failed me. My cousin with super fine hair follows it exactly and her color always turns out perfect. Maybe some batches are just stronger than others. It seems like a safer bet to trust the people who made the product.

Yeah, fine hair can process so fast... I always check a test strand every five minutes now.
