Showerthought: I hit 500 clients in my chair this year and it made me think about burnout

On one side, that number feels like a huge win for my small business... but on the other, it's a lot of emotional labor and physical strain. Do you think hitting big client milestones is a sign you should push harder or a warning to slow down?

Listen to that warning feeling, it's your body and brain telling you something's up. Hitting a big number is great for the bank account but awful if you're too fried to enjoy it. Scale back just a little next year, maybe raise your prices a bit to keep the income steady with less wear on you. The goal is to still love the work when you hit the next big number.

Raising prices is a smart way to protect your energy too.

My freelance rate went from $75 to $100 an hour last year and it cut out so many draining clients... best move I ever made.
