Just blew $200 on a 'professional' color remover that did nothing

Bought this Color Zap Pro kit online after a client had a bad box dye job. Followed the steps exactly, left it on for the full 45 minutes. It barely lightened the color, maybe half a level. Now I'm out the product cost and had to spend another hour correcting it with a proper bleach bath. The whole thing set my schedule back and the client wasn't thrilled. Has anyone found a remover that actually works on direct dye?

Ugh, that's the worst feeling! I've been there before, where something just seems off but you go for it anyway. It really stings when you realize it after the fact. Hope you didn't lose too much on it.
