Client told me my highlights looked 'too stripey' so I had to rethink my whole technique

I had a regular named Sarah call me out on her foils last month. She said it looked like I was painting stripes on a zebra. I realized I was weaving too thick and not blending enough at the root. Switched to a finer weave and added some babylights in there. Has anyone else had a client totally change how you section hair?

Is it really that serious though? One client says something and now you're rethinking your whole technique? I've been doing hair for 20 years and I've learned not to take every critique to heart. Some people just have a vision in their head that's impossible to match. Your stripes might have been totally fine, just not her taste. Don't let one picky client rewrite everything you know how to do.

nah i used to roll my eyes at picky clients but this one actually made my work better
