A client's eyebrows went from sharpie to soft in six months and the reason was wild

I have a regular, Mrs. Henderson, who came in with these blocky, dark brows she'd been drawing on for years. She finally let me start shaping and tinting them properly last fall. The real change happened when her granddaughter, a 10-year-old, accidentally used her brow pencil for an art project and broke it. Mrs. H just never replaced it and stuck with our monthly tint appointments. Has anyone else had a client's habit broken by a random accident?

Oh man, that reminds me of my aunt who always wore super bright pink lipstick. Her cat knocked the tube into the sink one morning and she just went without. She said she got so many compliments on her "natural look" that day, she never bought another one. Funny how a little accident can change everything, right?

Wait, but that's kind of a sad story when you think about it. She only got compliments because she stopped doing something she clearly enjoyed. Maybe the cat did her a favor, or maybe she just gave in to what other people liked. Sometimes an accident just makes you follow the crowd instead of being yourself.

Yeah, the "follow the crowd" thing is real. My buddy used to have this old band t-shirt he loved, full of holes. His dog finally tore it up for good. He started wearing plain shirts instead and his boss told him he looked "more professional." He just shrugged and kept wearing them. Kind of like how @terry_lewis21's aunt got praised for losing the lipstick. People just want you to be quieter, sometimes.
