Took me 15 years to realize I was overcooking rice because I lifted the lid too early
My mom always yelled at me for peeking, but I didn't get it until I watched my aunt make rice at Thanksgiving last year. Has anyone else had a cooking habit that took way too long to break?

Well, lifting the lid too early lets steam escape so the rice doesn't cook right, but you don't actually have to wait the whole time without peeking if you use a clear lid. Did your aunt use a glass lid?
