Shoutout to my weird trick for getting through a 12 hour shift

So I work overnights at a warehouse in Dallas. The 3am slump is real, hits like a truck. Everyone just drinks coffee or energy drinks. I tried that for months, felt awful. Then I read something about cold exposure. Sounds nuts, right? I started bringing a small cooler with a couple ice packs. On my break at 3am, I go to the bathroom, put one on the back of my neck for like 90 seconds. Not even a full minute and a half. It jolts me awake better than any drink. Some of my coworkers think I'm insane, say it's a placebo. But I've done it for 3 weeks now and I'm not dragging through the last half of my shift. Is this just a weird me thing, or has anyone else tried something this simple that actually worked?

Cold exposure" sounds wild but you're onto something. What made you even try it in the first place?

Honestly I got tired of feeling sluggish all the time. Saw some stuff online about how it can help with energy and mood, so I just started with a 30 second cold shower. The real shock was how clear my head felt after, like a hard reset. Now I'm curious, what part of the process are you most skeptical about? The initial shock or the supposed long term benefits?

Sounds like a great way to catch a cold.
