Picked the window seat over the aisle for a 6 hour flight, never again
I used to always grab the aisle so I could stretch my legs and get up whenever. Last trip to Dallas I decided to try the window for the view and to lean against the wall. Turns out I had to pee every 90 minutes because of the coffee I bought at the gate, and climbing over two sleeping strangers was a nightmare. The sunrise over the clouds was pretty for about 10 minutes, then it was just glare on my phone screen. I landed stiff and crabby, and my aisle-loving buddy just laughed when I told him. Has anyone actually made the window seat work for long flights, or is it just for naps and introverts?

Window seats are like wanting to be a morning person. Sounds great in theory, then reality hits and you're just squinting at the sun with a full bladder. We all keep falling for the same trap with different packaging.

Window seat is the only way to fly and @hayden466 is just scared of commitment. You get full control of the window shade, which is basically your own personal light switch for the whole cabin. Plus that wall to lean on is a game changer for sleeping, way better than fighting for the armrest with some stranger. The real trick is to stop chugging coffee like it's water and plan your bathroom breaks around the drink service. I've done 10 hour flights to Tokyo by the window and landed feeling fresh, meanwhile aisle people are getting their elbows bumped and carts slammed into them all flight. Y'all just need to learn how to hydrate properly and you'd never go back.
