Can we talk about how I finally won an argument with my brother in law about tipping
So my brother in law has been saying for 3 years that tipping is a scam and servers should just get paid a real wage, and I mostly agree but he also never tips when we go out which is a whole different thing. Last Friday at this diner in Boise our waitress ran back to the kitchen twice to fix my order and still kept our coffees full, so I left $12 on a $40 tab and he called me part of the problem. Is there a version of this argument where you can hate the tipping system and still tip good, or am I just picking a fight at dinner?
