Just realized the guy who said skip the tablet on small remodels had a point about my bids
Six months ago a GC in Des Moines looked at my bid software setup and said I was wasting 3 hours a week forcing every tiny kitchen job through a full takeoff app, so I tried his method of a clipboard and a $20 laser measure on anything under 400 sq ft. My close rate on small remodels went from 2 out of 10 to 5 out of 10 because I could walk the job and hand them a number the same afternoon. Has anyone else split their estimating by job size like this, or am I just slow on the software?
