Warning: My fake news detection tool flagged my own family photos as doctored
I ran this free AI checker on some old scanned photos from 1998 and it said they were 92% likely manipulated. Turns out the compression from scanning added artifacts that fool the algorithm. Has anyone else had false positives with these detection tools?

Man, that exact same thing happened to me last week with a photo of my grandmother from 1979. The scanner added these weird noise patterns and the tool flagged it as "93% likely altered." It's honestly frustrating because these detectors can't tell the difference between old digital artifacts and actual manipulation. I've heard similar stories from other people who scan old documents or digitize vintage photos. The tools just aren't built for that kind of degradation yet.
