That documentary about JFK's autopsy photos really got me thinking...
I was flipping through channels late last night and landed on this old documentary about the JFK assassination. They showed some of the autopsy photos and talked about the single bullet theory, but then they brought up something I never heard before. The pathologist who did the autopsy said the throat wound looked like it went in from the front, not the back like the official story says. I sat there for like 20 minutes just staring at the screen trying to process it. I mean, I always kinda figured there was more to it than what they told us in school, but seeing those photos and hearing that doctor's statement made my stomach drop. Has anyone else looked into the original autopsy reports or know a good source for the actual unredacted documents?

Did you catch that the pathologist they interviewed wasn't actually the one who did the official autopsy? Dr. Cyril Wecht, the guy saying the throat wound came from the front, was just a private expert who looked at the photos later, not the military doctors who performed the original exam at Bethesda. If you want the real unredacted stuff, the Warren Commission volumes are all online free of charge from the National Archives.

That line about Dr. Wecht just looking at photos later is something I always come back to. You know @jennysullivan, I actually spent a whole weekend once reading through those Warren Commission volumes online. It was a rainy Saturday and I couldn't sleep so I just dove in. What really got me was how much contradictory stuff is in there if you look close enough. I mean the official guys said one thing about the throat wound and then you got private experts like Wecht saying something totally different just from the pictures. It makes you wonder if anyone really knows what happened for sure.
