My uncle swears the $80 tire gauge at Costco is a scam, I think the $12 one is fine
He says the cheap ones read 4 psi off and that's why his truck tires wore out at 30k in Phoenix, but I've used my $12 gauge for 3 years and never had a problem. Am I missing something or is he just mad at the wrong thing?
I had the same back and forth with my dad about torque wrenches. What I did was check my cheap gauge against the one at the tire shop next time I got a rotation, and it was only off by like 1 psi. Your uncle might just be blaming the gauge when Phoenix heat and not rotating tires is what really eats them up.
