Spent 20 minutes arguing with a guy about curing blankets last week
He said wet burlap and plastic is fine for a 6-inch slab, but I've seen too many hairline cracks from uneven moisture. Has anyone else switched to insulating blankets and noticed a real difference?

Insulating blankets are the way to go for any slab over 4 inches. Wet burlap dries out way too fast on the edges and you end up with those micro-cracks every time.

Last year I did a 5 inch slab on my own patio and I was dead set on wet burlap. I used to think blankets were overkill for small jobs. But after fighting with the edges for days and seeing those tiny cracks show up anyway I completely changed my mind. You are 100% right about the edges drying out no matter how much water you dump on them. I am picking up blankets for the next pour no question.
