I thought those new fiberglass trowels were just a gimmick
My supplier in Tacoma kept pushing them last year, saying they were lighter and didn't rust. I finally bought a 14 inch one after my old steel trowel handle snapped. Used it on a garage floor pour last month, and the difference in my wrist by the end of the day was huge. It felt like I had worked two hours less. Has anyone else switched over and noticed a real change in fatigue, or did I just get lucky?

Turns out the sales guy wasn't just blowing smoke for once. Switched over last season and my arms don't feel like wet noodles at the end of a big pour anymore. That weight difference adds up after a few hundred square feet. Still keep a steel one in the truck for the purists who think we're getting soft, but my joints are very happy with the new tech.

Wait, are you talking about aluminum or fiberglass? Steel's the old heavy one, but both of the lighter ones are way easier on the joints.

Used to think it was all hype until I borrowed my buddy's aluminum float for a weekend job. Honestly, finishing a driveway used to wreck my shoulders for two days. Did the same size job with the lighter tool and could actually move my arms the next morning. Tbh, I still get the old school appeal, but you can't argue with not being in pain.
