I finally switched from a standard magnesium float to a Marshalltown DuraFloat for a big slab in Denver

The job was a 40 yard pour for a warehouse floor last week, and the difference in finish time and arm fatigue was huge. The DuraFloat's shape and weight just cut through the cream way easier, letting me close up the surface in about half the time with less pressure. Has anyone else found a specific tool that changed how you handle big commercial pours?

Yeah, that weight makes all the difference... lets the tool do the work. I keep a spray bottle with a bit of water and dish soap to mist the float face on really hot days. Cuts down on the drag even more and keeps the finish consistent.

Switched to a bull float years ago and never looked back. That extra reach saves your back on big pours.

The real win is how it changes the finish. You get a flatter surface with fewer lines because you're not stepping on the slab as much. That means less grinding later.
