Had to decide between a magnesium float and a regular aluminum one for a tricky garage floor pour yesterday
Picked the magnesium because I figured it would glide better on the cooler morning mix, but by 11am the sun hit it and it started dragging like crazy, has anyone else had that issue with magnesium floats on sunny days?

Heard my buddy Tom ran into this exact thing last summer on a driveway job. He was using a magnesium float and the sun came out around noon and it was like dragging a brick across sandpaper. He said he had to stop and switch over to the aluminum one halfway through cause the mag just wouldn't slide anymore. He said next time he's just gonna start with aluminum if the forecast shows any sun at all, even if it's cooler in the morning. Saved him a headache but he lost like 20 minutes swapping tools.
