Always bullfloated bridge decks first until a DOT inspector yelled at me about fines that wouldn't bite

He said 'you're trapping bleed water under the surface' and after watching him saw cut a test core showing those honeycomb voids I switched to waiting for the water to sheen off before touching the bullfloat and haven't had a single call back on any of my jobs since, has anyone else had to unlearn something an old timer swore by?

Did you ever get any pushback from the old foreman when you changed how you did it?

People get set in their ways, don't they? It's like when a grocery store rearranges the aisles, everyone complains for a week then forgets it was ever different.
