Update: Why I started using thermal paste sparingly

Tbh, I used to slather it on, but a friend showed me how too much can hurt heat transfer. Now I use a pea-sized drop and temps are way better.

Guess we all learned thermal paste isn't meant to be applied like cake frosting.

Disagree here honestly. I spread a thin, even layer across the whole IHS with a card. My theory is that the pea method risks tiny uncovered spots.

My first build had paste everywhere, even on the motherboard.
