I finally tried a new underwater epoxy on a hull repair in Seattle

Mixed it exactly like the old stuff, but it set up way faster in the cold water. Ended up with a lumpy patch I had to grind down later. Anyone know a good slow-cure epoxy for cold harbor work?

Learned that lesson the hard way with a lumpy transom last winter.

Feel your pain, had the same thing happen with a repair in Friday Harbor. That cold water just sucks the heat right out and kicks it off. Honestly I switched to a brand called BoatLIFE for cold jobs, their slow hardener gave me way more working time.

Ngl, that cold water is brutal. Heard good things about West System with the slow hardener for that.
