Found out the hard way that nitrox isn't just 'more oxygen'

Was reading the NOAA diving manual last month and it finally clicked that high partial pressures mess with your CNS long before you run out of gas, not just at depth limits. I've been doing 35m dives for years without ever tracking my oxygen exposure clock, feel like I dodged a bullet. Anyone else skip this in their training and only learn it from a book?

Damn, you never tracked your oxygen clock on 35m dives? That's wild to me. My buddy got bent doing repetitive dives at 30m and we all thought it was just about depth stops, not the actual gas mix math. The CNS stuff scares me more than running low on air honestly, like you could be totally fine one minute then seizing up the next. Reading about the 1.4 PO2 limit in the book made me double check my dive computer settings real quick. Glad you caught it before something bad went down.
