Vent: The guy at the Portland comic shop ruined my hunt for a specific variant cover.

I was super excited to find the 'Spider-Gwen' #1 glow-in-the-dark variant, and this other collector grabbed the last copy right in front of me after loudly telling his friend he was just gonna flip it online. Now I just check eBay from my couch on release day... does anyone even buy from local stores anymore, or is it all just for scalpers?

That guy is the worst kind of collector. Local shops are still worth it, but man, the scalpers make it hard.

My local shop in Seattle had a line of five guys with folding chairs before open for the last X-Men #1. I just order online now too.

Folding chairs? That's a whole new level of commitment. I can't imagine getting there that early just for a single issue. Makes the online order seem like the only sane choice these days.
