Man I was literally just reading about how bagging can actually trap moisture and cause more damage over time depending on where you live. Some guy on another forum was saying his Silver Surfer #4 got all wavy from being sealed up tight in a humid basement for like 15 years. I switched to a top loader binder for my key issues and just use the cheap cardboard boxes for the rest. The graded comics I still keep in their cases though that's different. But for regular reading copies the binder system just makes sense you can actually flip through them without pulling out a million bags and boards.

Yo same thing happened to me with an old Fantastic Four I kept in a bag for like 10 years in my parents' damp garage! I pulled it out thinking it was all pristine and the whole back cover had this wavy ripple effect from the moisture getting trapped inside the plastic. It's crazy how we think we're protecting stuff but really we're just making a little sauna for the paper. Now I'm the same way with my readers in a binder and only bag the stuff I'm actually trying to flip or grade. Live and learn I guess.

@terry_lewis21 Sounds like your Silver Surfer got a permanent wave, bet that's a tough sell on eBay. At least with top loaders you can see the damage in real time instead of finding out 15 years later.
