Question about those single-origin Ethiopian beans from that new roaster downtown

I was totally skeptical that a $24 bag of beans could be that different from my usual stuff, but after brewing a cup with my V60, the blueberry notes were so strong it actually made me laugh out loud at my kitchen counter. Has anyone else had a coffee that completely flipped their expectations like that?

My buddy Dave got a bag of Kenyan beans as a gift last Christmas. He brewed it expecting his usual dark roast taste and said it was so bright and winey it tasted like a totally different drink. He texted me a picture of his confused face with the mug, it was pretty funny.
