Just found out CSS Grid is older than I thought

I was reading a dev blog from 2017 and saw someone talking about using CSS Grid in production. I always thought it was a newer thing from like 2020 or so. Does anyone else remember when they first started using Grid in their projects?

Remember the old float based grids before Grid was a thing? I think a lot of people didn't really jump on it until maybe 2018 or 2019 when browser support was solid.

Man those float grid days were a mess, I still have nightmares about clearing floats and that one time I accidentally broke the entire layout with one wrong percentage.
