Appreciation post: syntax highlighting in VS Code changed how I debug

I was spending way too long staring at my Python scripts trying to find a missing comma or parenthesis. Then I turned on bracket pair colorization after watching a tutorial from a guy named Mike on YouTube, and now I spot mismatched brackets instantly. Has anyone else found a simple editor setting that made a big difference in catching bugs?

Bro my friend put that on and instantly found a bug they'd missed for days.

Honestly, bracket pair colorization is cool but it's not exactly VS Code exclusive. Most decent editors have had that for years now, like Sublime Text and even Notepad++. But yeah, it's a game changer once you turn it on.

Oh absolutely, a buddy of mine was stubborn about switching to VS Code for the longest time, kept using Sublime Text. He finally caved and turned on bracket pair colorization one night while we were on a call. He was quiet for like ten seconds then just yelled "OH COME ON" and had us all dying laughing. He'd been staring at a broken nested function for two days, and the colors made it pop right out at him. Has anyone else had that kind of facepalm moment after a simple setting change?
