Vent: This week I scrapped a $2,500 titanium part because someone moved my work offset.

Wait, isn't there a way to check the offset before you run the program? I've seen guys at my shop always do a quick dry run or use a probe. A part that expensive, you'd think there would be a double-check step in the process. How did it get all the way through without anyone catching it?

Look, sometimes the process itself is the problem. You can have all the checks in the world, but if you're rushing to meet a crazy deadline, even a dry run gets skipped. The real issue is the pressure to go fast, not the guy who fat-fingered the offset.

Honestly, I read a case study where rushing caused a huge loss, and @felix_henderson54 is right about the pressure.
