Had a machine running rough for 3 months straight

Finally broke down and checked the coolant concentration with a refractometer instead of guessing, turns out it was way too thin. Spindle temp dropped 15 degrees after I fixed it, anyone else ignore the simple stuff for way too long?

Yeah it's wild how often we skip the most obvious stuff because we think we already know it, right? There's this whole pattern I've noticed where people overcomplicate things when the fix is usually staring them right in the face. Like, I spent weeks trying to figure out why my car was idling rough, checked all kinds of sensors and modules, then just happened to clean the MAF sensor with some spray and it was perfect. It's almost like we get so used to the problem we forget to check the basics first, and then feel stupid when it was something that simple all along. Guessing on coolant concentration is definitely one of those things though, everyone thinks they can eyeball it until the machine lets them know otherwise.

Wait, you actually changed my mind about eyeballing coolant. I used to think it was fine.

Weeks on a rough idle and it was just a dirty MAF sensor? @rowanellis that's brutal.
