My electric bill went down after I stopped using the dryer in Phoenix

I live in Phoenix and it's super hot, so I figured using my dryer year-round was just a fact of life. I started hanging my clothes on a rack inside last July, and my August bill was $45 lower than the year before. I learned that one appliance can make a real dent, even in a tough climate. Has anyone else in a dry, hot area seen savings from cutting out the dryer?

Yeah, dryers are basically space heaters that also tumble your clothes. In Phoenix, that heat just fights your AC. My bill dropped a solid thirty bucks a month in Tucson after I switched to a rack in the garage. The clothes dry stupid fast out here anyway.

Watched my neighbor in Mesa try the same thing last summer. He got one of those fold-up racks for his shaded patio, said his next bill was like fifty bucks cheaper. He was shocked because he figured the AC would just eat up any savings, but nope.

My husband swore our dryer was broken, but nope, just Arizona.
