Last Tuesday, my entire neighborhood lost power for 8 hours during a heatwave. It was a rough day, but it made me think.

Ugh, that's brutal. It's a total wake up call though. We keep getting these crazy storms and heat, and the old wires just can't handle it. They patch it up after it breaks, but that's not a real fix. We're gonna see way more of this unless they actually upgrade the whole system.

Honestly, that sounds like a system failure, not a deep lesson. Our grid is way too fragile for these new weather patterns. We're just not ready.

My cousin in Texas was without power for five days after that last freeze. I mean, they're still just fixing things after they break instead of making them stronger. It feels like we're just waiting for the next big outage.
