Wasted $250 on a cheap rotary brush kit that fell apart in 2 weeks
I bought one of those off brand rotary brush kits online for cleaning chimney flues. The motor started smoking on my third job and the cheap plastic handle snapped clean off. Now I'm stuck with a dirty flue and have to rent a proper machine from the supply house for $60 a day. Has anyone else had bad luck with those budget sweeping kits?

Hope you didn't pay extra for the "heavy duty" version.

Oh man that sucks. Just a heads up though I think you mean a rotary brush for cleaning dryer vents not chimney flues. Chimney flues need different gear like a wire brush setup on rods and you definitely don't want plastic handles near a hot flue. The smoke smell from a used dryer vent brush on a chimney job would be pretty nasty too so at least the motor dying saved you that headache.
