Guy asked me to frame a wall in his basement with pressure treated lumber

Met a homeowner last spring who insisted I use pressure treated 2x4s for all the interior walls in his basement. I tried to explain it would shrink and twist something awful, but he was dead set. Charged him extra for the material and labor. Six months later he called me back because all the drywall screws were popping out and nothing was straight. Anyone else run into a client who won't listen to basic advice?

Pressure treated lumber shrinks like crazy when it dries out inside.

All lumber shrinks some, that's just wood doing what wood does. Treating it doesn't magically make it immune to physics, you know? If you buy it wet and let it dry in place, of course it's going to move a little, but that's on the installer for not letting it acclimate first. Plenty of people frame entire decks with pressure treated stuff and never see any major shrinking problems because they know to factor that in.
