Finished my first real cabinet job last week, 3 years in the making

I started building cabinets in my garage 3 years ago. Last Thursday I installed the last door on a full kitchen set for a house over in Springfield. Client paid me $2,800 for the whole thing. It wasn't perfect but the couple said they loved it. Anyone else remember their first kitchen job going a little rough around the edges?

Isn't it something how all those little mistakes just seem to disappear when the customer is actually happy? I bet you learned more from that one kitchen than from a whole year of practice. It sounds like you earned every bit of that $2,800 with three years of sweat put into it.

Man, @lisa5 is totally right about that. Reminds me of when I tried to fix my own sink and ended up with water all over the floor, but my wife said it looked "character building." Sometimes the people who believe in you make all the difference.
