My old job gave me a choice between a 5% raise and a 3 day weekend every month

I picked the 3 day weekend and everyone thought I was crazy but honestly having that extra day to reset has made me way more productive the other 4 days. Has anyone else turned down cash for more time off and had it work out better than you expected?

You say that extra day makes you "way more productive," but I gotta push back on that. A 5% raise adds up year after year, and one Friday off a month won't help you retire any sooner. Time off is nice but cold hard cash is real security.

Man, you're really out here turning spreadsheets into a retirement plan while the rest of us are just trying to survive the week. A 5% raise is great and all, but have you priced a therapy session lately because that's what the other Friday pays for. Real security is nice, but so is not wanting to throw your laptop out a window on Thursday afternoon.
