Dodging cancel talk at a family BBQ
My cousin quoted my old Facebook status during a BBQ. It was a joke from 2012 that seems offensive now. Everyone got quiet and stared. I now go through my online history before big meetups. This stops most issues before they blow up.

Deleted a bunch of my old tweets a few years back for this exact reason. They were just dumb jokes but man they did not age well at all. Made me realize your online history is a permanent record you gotta manage.

Ugh, a friend of mine had her old college party pics surface before a job interview. @quinn_hayes is right, you really have to clean stuff up. She spent a whole weekend locked down her profiles.
