Apology video vs public statement, one actually worked for me
Got caught in a Twitter mob last March in Columbus over a dumb joke I posted. I wrote a long public statement and it just made things worse, people screenshot parts and twisted them. Then I made a 90 second video owning it, no excuses, and the thread actually calmed down. Has anyone else found video apologies land way better than written ones?

People can twist words on a screen all day long, but it's way harder to fake a face. My written apology turned into a whole new pile-on because everyone read it in their own angry voice. The video forced me to actually look at the camera and say, "Yeah, that was dumb, I own it." It's like the difference between reading a breakup text and hearing someone say it to your face. One comes off like a lawyer wrote it, the other feels like a human being. Did your video take a few takes to get through, or did you just wing it?
