A vintage Polaroid repair turned into a glitter bomb in my shop

This Tuesday, a guy brought in a 1970s Polaroid SX-70 that wouldn't open. I got the case off and a spring-loaded tray inside shot out, spraying what felt like a full ounce of craft glitter all over my bench and my face. My coworker just stared and said, 'Well, that's a new kind of light leak.' I spent the next hour finding sparkles in my tools and even inside three other cameras on the bench. Has anyone else had a simple fix make a huge, ridiculous mess?

Honestly used to be on Sam's side about glitter just being a funny prank thing. After helping my niece with a school project last month, I get it now. That stuff never goes away, found a piece in my coffee a week later. Your coworker's light leak joke is solid gold though.

Why are you even complaining about a glitter spill? It sounds like a fun surprise that broke up a boring repair job. You got a funny story out of it instead of just another broken camera.

Lol @samwalker, you clearly haven't had to clean glitter out of camera gears. That stuff is the herpes of craft supplies.
