Warning: Don't waste $300 on a 'certified' doctor referral service

I paid a private company $300 to get me a QME referral faster and they just gave me a list of names I could have found online for free. Has anyone else fallen for these shady middleman services that promise faster claim help?

I read somewhere that these referral middlemen are just data brokers in disguise, scraping public directory listings and charging people for the same info. Sounds about right if they handed you a list you could have pulled from your phone in five minutes. Three hundred bucks for a printout of Google results feels like a scam dressed up in a website.
