I finally saw the difference pre-terminated fiber made on a big job

We used to field-terminate everything on multi-dwelling units, and last week I ran a 48-unit building in Portland where we switched to pre-terminated trunks. Cut our install time from like 6 hours down to 2.5 per floor. Has anyone else made the switch and noticed a big drop in callbacks for bad terminations?

48 units and you cut it from 6 hours to 2.5? I'd be happy with that even if half the connectors showed up broken. Sounds like your guys are faster at untangling the mess than mine are.

Man, I'm the opposite. Pre-terminated always means I'm fighting a roll of fiber that's either too short or too long and the connector gets jacked up in the path somewhere. Field terminations are more work but at least I know it's done right the first time.

Pre-terminated always gives me that same headache, you pull it and the connector's already busted from getting snagged.
