Had a fiber splice fail in a Phoenix attic last Tuesday

The heat got to the fusion splice protector and it cracked, causing a 3 dB loss spike. I had to re-run about 15 feet of drop cable and re-splice it on the spot. Anyone have a go-to brand for heat-resistant sleeves that can handle 120+ degrees?

Yeah, those Phoenix attics are brutal. I've had good luck with the heavy duty 3M sleeves.

My old house had that pink fiberglass insulation everywhere. I wore a cheap cotton hoodie over a long sleeve shirt, tucked everything into my gloves. Still got that itch for days after. The 3M stuff is way better, it doesn't let anything through.

Heavy duty 3M sleeves are the only reason my arms aren't just permanent scratches. I look like I lost a fight with a cactus.
