The domino shelf at the Denver show changed my layout setup
Went to that cabinet expo last month and saw a guy from a small shop in Boise showing how he lays out hinge plates with a domino jig. I always did the math on paper and transferred marks with a square. He just plunged and moved on. Took me maybe 20 minutes to copy his workflow on my own bench when I got home. First job with it saved me a solid hour on 12 doors. Has anyone else picked up a method from a show demo that actually stuck?

Did you catch his name or the shop from Boise? I've been to a few of those expos and most demos are just sales pitches, but the hinge layout one sounds like the rare keeper. The math method works fine, but it eats time on repeat jobs like doors. I picked up a similar trick for drawer slides at a show years back, just watching a guy skip the measuring tape. Now I trust the jig marks and check one corner instead of three. Those little workflow swaps are worth more than any new tool on the floor.
