Rant: my domino joiner drifted a quarter inch on an $8k walnut job in Portland

I was mid-assembly on a custom entertainment unit last Tuesday when I noticed the mortises didn't line up, turns out the fence lock screw had worked loose over 2 days of cutting, and I had to patch all 14 joints with epoxy and dowels while the client watched silently, has anyone else had a brand new tool fail silently like that?

Oh man, that's rough. But I mean, the fence lock screw working loose isn't really the tool failing silently, it's more of a maintenance thing. Those screws need a solid check before big runs, especially on a two day job with vibration. I've had quick clamps shift on me the same way and learned the hard way to just retighten everything at the start of each day. Sucks about the walnut though, that's brutal to have to patch.
